“Be happy, okay?” he said as he beamed ear to ear, totally oblivious to his surrounding. His eyes were fixated only to the boy opposite him, who wore an old black glasses, but he didn’t mind the slightest about that.
“What do you mean by that,” the opposite boy whispered. “We’ve lost our everything.”
“At least you still have me.”
They smiled sadly to each other. That fact was true, even though it was painful. They only had each other now, and it was their everything. The old everything was gone with the fire, the new everything was this tall boy with weird glasses and a shorter boy with weird hair.
“Let’s head up for a meal, shall we?” the shorter boy asked. “I am hungry. But I don’t know what to do, since we don’t have our kitchen now.”
“Wait, wait. Don’t they left something for us? A little bit of money? Spare house? Something?”
“I don’t know. I don’t know anything about our aunt and uncle.”
“Well, we fucked up.” The glasses boy gritted his teeth. “How are we supposed to do now?”
“I don’t know.” The other boy grinned. “Be happy is the easiest way.”
“At least I’m with you,” the glasses boy nodded.
“At least I’m with you.”
